Jalgaon:

In the case of detonators being planted on the railway track near Saag Phata railway station between Nepanagar and Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh in Bhusaval division of Central Railway, the railway has said that the detonators belong to the railway but they should not have been found where they were found. This matter is being investigated. This incident happened on 18 September but information about it has come to light now.

Central Railway CPRO Dr Swapnil Neela said that the detonators found are the same ones used by the railways, which are called crackers. The railways use them only when there is an obstruction on the track or in fog so that the motorman gets alerted by its sound. That means it works as a signal. The railways use it often.

He said that there was no justification for planting these detonators at the place near Saag Phata, hence RPF is investigating it.

According to sources, a train carrying army personnel was about to pass from the place where the detonators were planted. However, the detonators were detected before the train passed. This alerted the railways and the RPF reached the spot and removed them. Now an investigation is being conducted. About ten detonators were found from the spot. The railways claim that those detonators do not cause any harm to the train.
