New Delhi:

This time the festival of Raksha Bandhan was very special for the traders and the sales were at a record level compared to previous years. Like the last several years, this year too neither rakhis were purchased from China nor the goods for rakhis were imported. According to the Confederation of All India Traders, consumers flocked to the markets across the country to buy rakhis, due to which all the records of rakhi sales of previous years were broken.

CAIT said that during the festival of Raksha Bandhan, the trade of Rakhis has been estimated to be around Rs 12 thousand crores. Along with this, the business of sweets, gift items and goods like clothes etc. for gifting was also estimated to be around Rs 5 thousand crores.
