India’s star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra missed the Diamond League title by one centimetre and finished second for the second consecutive time with a throw of 87.86 metres in the season’s final. Two-time Olympic medallist Chopra, 26, won the trophy in 2022 and finished second last year. He threw the best throw in the third attempt. But he fell one centimetre behind winner Anderson Peters’ 87.87 metres.

Two-time world champion Peters of Grenada threw the best throw in the first attempt. Julian Weber of Germany finished third with a throw of 85.97 meters. Tokyo Olympic champion Chopra won the silver medal in the Paris Olympics last month.

Neeraj Chopra threw 86.82 meters in his first attempt and finished second behind Anderson Peters. Neeraj Chopra’s second attempt was not good as he threw 83.49 meters. However, he remained second in the standings behind Anderson Peters.
