According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Kutch, Dwarka, Jamnagar, Morbi, Surendranagar, Junagadh, Rajkot, Botad, Girsomnath, Amreli and Bhavnagar districts. Let us tell you that many cities of Gujarat continued to receive continuous rain on Wednesday for the fourth day. The situation in Vadodara is worrying.
Some areas here are submerged in 10 to 12 feet of water. Relief and rescue operations are underway by the state government. NDRF-SDRF rescue operations are continuing in flood-affected areas.
Regarding the devastating floods in Gujarat, Prime Minister Modi spoke to Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel over the phone and took stock of the situation and assured all possible help. CM Patel has deployed several teams to rescue people. People are being rescued continuously. They are being taken to safe places. So far more than 5000 people have been evacuated and 1200 others have been rescued in Vadodara.
Here in Chhattisgarh, the weather has changed once again. Heavy rain is expected in many districts today and tomorrow. According to the Meteorological Department, moderate rain is expected in most districts of the state and thunderstorms and heavy to very heavy rain is expected at one or two places.
Let us tell you that for the past one week, rain activities have weakened in the state including the capital Raipur, due to which the day temperature in Raipur was recorded above 34 degrees on Wednesday. The hottest district in the state was Dongargarh. The maximum temperature here was 34.3 degrees.
Let us tell you that an average rainfall of 892.1 mm has been recorded in the state since June 1, 2024. According to the rainfall recorded in various districts of the state from June 01, 2024 till today 28 August morning, the highest average rainfall of 1862.9 mm has been recorded in Bijapur district and the lowest average rainfall of 497.8 mm has been recorded in Surguja district.
According to the information received from the state level flood control room, from June 1 till now, an average rainfall of 909.1 mm was recorded in Surajpur district, 1312.8 mm in Balrampur, 767.5 mm in Jashpur, 927.2 mm in Korea, 904.9 mm in Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur.
