India's big jump in Global Innovation Index 2024, reached 39th position, PM Modi said - this is a great achievement


New Delhi:

India has secured 39th position out of total 133 economies in the Global Innovation Index 2024 i.e. GII 2024. India got 38.3 points. India has performed better in this index compared to last year. Last year, the country was at 40th position with 38.1 points.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has described the 39th ranking in GII as a remarkable achievement. In a social media post, PM Modi said that the government is committed to ensuring a vibrant innovative ecosystem, which can change the lives of the youth.

According to the report, India tops the chart of best economies in the Central and South East Asia region. Apart from this, India is one such country in the group of lower middle income group countries, which has performed better than expected in innovation as per its development. India has the best innovative economy among the lower middle income group countries.

According to the GII 2024 report, India’s strength was based on indices like 1 in ICT service exports, 6 in venture capital received and 7 in intangible asset intensity. India’s unicorn companies gave the country 8th position at the global level.
