A panoramic sunroof lets in more light and ups the premium feel of the cabin.
Sunroofs are now becoming commonplace in the Indian automotive market. While a single-pane electric sunroof is now available on a host of affordable cars, many customers are now opting for cars with the larger, panoramic sunroof as it lets in more light and adds a premium feel to the cabin. Here’s a list of the 10 most affordable SUVs with a panoramic sunroof on at least one trim.
1) Mahindra XUV 3XO
Price: Rs 12.49 lakh onwards
The Mahindra XUV 3XO is the most affordable SUV in India to offer a panoramic sunroof. It gets this feature on the top-end AX7 trim, with prices starting from Rs 12.49 lakh. The XUV 3XO is only one of the two compact SUVs in the market that currently offers a panoramic sunroof.
2) MG Astor
Price: Rs 13.11 lakh onwards
MG offers the panoramic sunroof on the Astor from the Select trim onwards. The Astor gets a 110hp, 144Nm 1.5-litre, petrol engine mated to a 5-speed manual or a CVT. The other powertrain on offer is a 140hp, 220Nm, 1.3-litre, turbo-petrol engine mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
3) Kia Seltos

Kia offers a panoramic sunroof on the Seltos from the HTK+ variant onwards, with prices starting from Rs 14.06 lakh. It comes with a 115hp, 144Nm, 1.5-litre, petrol engine, a 116hp, 250Nm, 1.5-litre diesel engine and a 160hp, 253Nm, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. Gearbox options available include a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed iMT, a CVT, a 6-speed automatic and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
4) Hyundai Creta
Price: Rs 14.36 lakh onwards
The Hyundai Creta gets a panoramic sunroof from the mid-spec S (O) variant onwards, with prices starting from Rs 14.36 lakh. It comes with the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre diesel, and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine options as the Seltos.
5) Tata Nexon
Price: Rs 14.99 lakh onwards
The Tata Nexon is only the second compact SUV to offer a panoramic sunroof on its top-spec trims. Notably, the Nexon comes with the panoramic sunroof across all its four fuel options – petrol, diesel, CNG and electric – making it the only CNG car with this feature, and also the most affordable EV with the same. On the ICE variants, it is limited to the top-spec Fearless+ PS trim, while on the EV, it’s offered on the top-spec Empowered+ 45 variant.
6) Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara
Price: Rs 15.51 lakh onwards
The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara gets a panoramic sunroof from the Alpha variant onwards on the mild-hybrid version. It gets a 103hp, 137Nm, 1.5-litre petrol engine mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox, along with a 116hp, 1.5-litre hybrid powertrain coupled with an e-CVT.
7) Toyota Urban Cruiser Hybrid
Price: Rs 16.04 lakh onwards
Much like the Grand Vitara, the Toyota Hyryder also gets the panoramic sunroof on the top-spec V trim with the petrol engine, and on the G and V trims of the strong-hybrid powertrain. The Hyryder’s black and brown interior looks appealing and the panoramic sunroof takes its premium quotient up a notch. Like the Maruti, it also gets a 103hp, 137Nm, 1.5-litre petrol engine with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic as well as the 116hp, 1.5-litre petrol-hybrid with an e-CVT gearbox. Besides looking thoroughly modern and exuding a rugged appeal, the Hyryder gets the basics right with a well-judged ride and handling balance.
8) Hyundai Creta N Line
Price: Rs 16.82 lakh onwards
The sportier Creta N Line offers a panoramic sunroof as standard across both N8 an N10 trim levels, with prices starting from Rs 16.82 lakh. Apart from visual changes, it gets a retuned suspension setup and reworked steering dynamics for a sportier drive, along with a sportier-sounding exhaust over the standard Creta.
9) Mahindra XUV700
Price: Rs 16.89 lakh onwards
The Mahindra XUV700’s new AX5 Select variant is the most affordable one to be offered with a panoramic sunroof, with prices starting from Rs 16.89 lakh. The SYV is powered by a 200hp, 380Nm, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 185hp, 420Nm (450Nm with the automatic), 2.0-litre diesel engine. Both are mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
10) Hyundai Alcazar
Price: Rs 17.18 lakh onwards
The Alcazar gets a panoramic sunroof from its second-from-base Prestige trim, but it is only offered on the petrol variants of the SUV. None of the diesel variants of the Alcazar get a sunroof, let alone a panoramic unit, because Hyundai wanted to price the diesel variant at par with the petrol, which is why this feature has been skipped on the diesel. The Alcazar gets a 160hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to either a manual or a 7-speed DCT gearbox.
