She also said, “First of all, I want to thank Delhi’s popular Chief Minister, National Convenor of Aam Aadmi Party and my mentor Arvind Kejriwal, who gave me such a big responsibility and trusted me for it. It is only possible under the leadership of Aam Aadmi Party and only Arvind Kejriwal that a politician can become the Chief Minister of a state for the first time. I come from an ordinary family. If I had been in any other party, I would probably not have even got an election ticket.”

Atishi met former CM Kejriwal

Before the swearing-in, Atishi and the leaders who were part of her cabinet met Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor and former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal here. Atishi, AAP leaders Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot reached Kejriwal’s residence in Civil Lines here before the swearing-in.

Kejriwal had resigned from the post of CM

Atishi was elected the leader of the AAP legislative party earlier this week. Earlier, Kejriwal had made an unexpected announcement of his resignation from the post of Chief Minister and said that he would return to the post of Chief Minister only if people give him a ‘certificate of honesty’.
