Apple will reportedly hold another event to launch new Macs and iPads in October this year. If this happens, it will be the fourth time in the last five years that Apple has held an event in October. Last year, Apple held a virtual event on October 30 to introduce new MacBook Pro and iMac models with M3 series processors. Let’s know about Apple’s upcoming products.

In his Power On newsletter today, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that Apple plans to introduce the first M4 Macs and new lower-end iPads at its next event in the coming weeks. The MacBook Pro, iMac and Mac mini are expected to be updated with the M4 series of chips this year, followed by the MacBook Air, Mac Studio and Mac Pro by 2025. He adds that some of the Macs with the initial M4 chips are already shipping.

These products will be updated in Apple’s next event:

MacBook Pro

Gurman’s AccordingApple is planning to introduce updated 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M4, M4 Pro and M4 Max chips at its next event. There is no possibility of any change in the design of the laptop this year, changes like OLED display and slim design are not expected before 2026. Apple last redesigned the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro in 2021. At the same time, new models with M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max chips were introduced last October.

iMac and Mac mini

According to Gurman, there are also plans to update the iMac with the M4 chip at the Apple event. The iMac is likely to get a USB-C switch instead of Lightning this year. The Mac mini will be updated with M4 and M4 Pro chips at the event. He had previously said that the desktop computer would be redesigned to be almost as small as the Apple TV. The new Mac mini will lack a USB-A port.

iPad mini and iPad entry-level model

The iPad mini 7th generation is expected to be launched at this event. The upcoming iPad mini includes a faster chip, upgraded front and rear cameras, jelly scrolling screen tear solution in portrait orientation, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 support and new color options. Gurman said that new lower-end iPads will be introduced at the event, so there could also be an iPad 11.
