PM Modi US Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached America for the QUAD summit. PM Modi’s plane landed at Philadelphia Airport today. On his three-day US tour, PM Modi will attend the Quad Leaders Summit and the United Nations’ ‘Summit of the Future’. During this, his emphasis will be on strengthening India’s long-term relations with the US and other Indo-Pacific allies. Also, the NRIs are also ready to give a grand welcome to PM Modi.

Will hold bilateral discussions with other Quad leaders

PM Modi will hold bilateral talks with US President Joe Biden and other leaders of the Quad group, including Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio.

The Quad is a diplomatic partnership between Australia, India, Japan, and the United States committed to supporting an open, stable, and prosperous Indo-Pacific.

Important agreements expected between India and America

Some major Indo-Pacific Economic Framework agreements are expected to be signed after the meeting between PM Modi and Biden. A bilateral fact sheet will also be released after the bilateral discussion between the two leaders.

The all-important sixth Quad Leaders Summit is scheduled for Sunday at around 1.30 am Indian time at Archmere Academy, where Biden attended high school.

Quad leaders will focus on these issues

The Quad leaders will discuss cooperation in areas of health security, climate change, emerging technology, infrastructure, connectivity and counter-terrorism.

Along with this, ways to find peaceful solutions to the Ukraine and Gaza conflicts will also be discussed and emphasis will be laid on peace, progress and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.

Before leaving for the US on Saturday, PM Modi said that the Quad has emerged as a major platform of like-minded countries focusing on peace and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region.
