How did the Karnataka government know what the Lokayukta wrote? : The Governor wrote a letter to the Chief Secretary and sought an answer | Karnataka Governor letter to Chief Secretary, said

Bengaluru:

The tension between Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot and the Karnataka government is increasing. The tussle that started with the alleged MUDA scam has now increased further. Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot has written two letters to the Chief Secretary of the state, which are enough to increase the trouble of the Siddaramaiah government. The Governor has written a letter to Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh asking how the state government and the cabinet came to know what the Lokayukta has written to the Governor? What questions have been raised? And in which cases permission for prosecution has been sought, this matter is confidential and the Lokayukta is an independent institution. Then how did all this information reach the government and the cabinet.

In this letter, the Governor has written that I am curious and surprised to know how the state government and the cabinet came to know about the request of the Lokayukta police, that too minute details. Being an independent institution, how can the Lokayukta police share confidential information with anyone other than the prosecution authority, while I have seen confidential material circulating in the media. The Governor has sought a reply from the state Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh.

Congress leaders had accused the Governor

Recently, ministers, MLAs and MPs of the Congress government took out a rally from the Vidhan Sabha, which ended at the Raj Bhavan. Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar, who led the rally, asked the Governor why he was silent on the file of NDA leaders. The Lokayukta police is seeking permission to prosecute HD Kumaraswamy, Janardhan Reddy, Murgesh Nirani and Sasikala Jolle, but the Governor is not giving permission. The matter is pending for a long time, while the Governor immediately gave permission to prosecute on a private complaint in the MUDA case of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, why? In response to this, the Governor clarified that no file related to these cases is pending with him.

After this, the Governor has now raised questions on the government as to how and in what manner the information sent by the Lokayukta to the Governor reached the government and the cabinet. After this letter, the Governor has sent another letter to Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh. In this letter, a detailed report has been sought from the Chief Secretary about a decision of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

BJP attacks Siddaramaiah government

Governor Thawarchand Gehlot has raised questions on the complaint of social activist PS Nataraj, in which it is alleged that MUDA misused the amount of Rs 384 crore on the verbal order of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Governor Thawarchand Gehlot has sought a detailed report from the Chief Secretary.

Complainant PS Nataraj alleges that “CM gave verbal instructions that Rs 40 crore for Varuna assembly constituency and Rs 15 crore for Srirangapatna assembly constituency should be allocated for development projects. Rs 300 crore illegally withdrawn should be returned to the people. This is my demand from the Governor.” Meanwhile, BJP has also become aggressive now. BJP state president BY Vijayendra says that “scams of Congress government in Karnataka are coming out one by one and they do not want the Governor to take action. This is very unfortunate.”

Questions raised on the intentions of the Governor

From Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to his cabinet ministers, everyone is questioning the intentions of the Governor. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has already demanded the resignation of Governor Thawarchand Gehlot, his senior cabinet minister Dinesh Gundu Rao had also said that “The Governor’s behavior is very suspicious. His intentions are becoming even more partisan. It is very clear that now he is behaving like a political agent.”

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has challenged the decision of Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot in the High Court in the alleged MUDA scam. The Governor has given permission to prosecute Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The debate in the High Court has been completed and the High Court has reserved the decision.
