Today, on August 30, 2024, the stock market is open and both Sensex and Nifty have made a new record. Sensex is up 502.42 points at 82,637.03 while Nifty is up 50 97.75 points at 25,249.70. This is the new all-time high level of both the indexes. This is the 9th consecutive session of gain in Sensex while this is the 12th consecutive session of gain for Nifty.
There are many reasons behind today’s rise in the stock market, including buying by foreign institutional investors (FIIs) and positive global cues.
Media and energy stocks rise
Today, media and energy stocks have seen a rise. The indexes of these sectors have registered a good rise. At the beginning of trading, PSE Bank, Fin Service, Pharma, FMCG, Metal, Realty and Energy indices are strong. However, a slight pressure is being seen in the IT index.
Today, Bank Nifty has also seen a rise. Bank Nifty has opened at 51,437.45 with a gain of 284.70 points, which shows a gain of 0.56%. Along with largecap, there is a bullish trend in midcap and smallcap as well. Nifty Midcap 100 index is at 59,139 with a gain of 255 points or 0.45 percent and Nifty Smallcap 100 index is at 19,292 with a gain of 79 points or 0.41 percent.

Among the 30 companies listed on the Sensex, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, HDFC Bank, NTPC, Power Grid, L&T, Titan, M&M, Asian Paints and Reliance are the top gainers while Tata Motors, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, TCS, Sun Pharma and HCL Tech are the top losers.
Earlier on Thursday, the market closed at its all-time high. The BSE Sensex closed at 82,134 points with a gain of 349 points or 0.43 percent and the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed at 25,151 points with a gain of 99 points or 0.42 percent. During Thursday’s trading session, both the Sensex and the Nifty made an all-time high of 82,285 points and 25,192 points respectively.
Sensex-Nifty continues to rise trend
In the last eight trading sessions, the Sensex gained a total of 1,709.93 points or 2.12 percent. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty rose 99.60 points or 0.40 percent to close at a new record level of 25,151.95. During trading, it rose 140.55 points to reach its highest level of 25,192.90. During the last 11 sessions, the Nifty jumped a total of 1,012.95 points or 4.19 percent.
