10 more people arrested in the Dalit settlement arson case in Nawada, Bihar

Bihar government is the target of opposition parties

Police has arrested 10 more people in the Dalit Basti arson case in Nawada, Bihar. After which the number of people arrested has gone up to 15. In Bihar’s Nawada, on Wednesday evening around 7 o’clock, the police got information that 40-50 houses were set on fire in Krishna Nagar Dalit Basti located near Narora. As soon as the information was received, there was a stir among the top officials. SP-DM reached the spot in a hurry. On reaching there, people told that along with setting fire, firing was also done. Keeping the sensitivity of the spot, all the things started being investigated one by one. Former Bihar CM Jitan Ram Manjhi will also visit the spot on September 22. Giving information about this case, Manjhi said that all the 12 people who have been arrested are of Yadav caste.

Congress President Kharge surrounded Nitish government

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over the incident of setting fire to the houses of Dalits in Nawada, Bihar. The Congress President alleged that this is another proof of the jungle raj of the “double engine government”. In Bihar’s Nawada, around 7 pm on Wednesday evening, the police received information that 40-50 houses were set on fire in the Krishna Nagar Dalit Basti located near Narora.

Mayawati demanded strict legal action

Bahujan Samaj Party president Mayawati on Thursday demanded strict legal action from the state government in the case of burning of many houses of Dalits in Bihar’s Nawada district. The former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh also demanded full financial help from the government for the rehabilitation of the poor victims. Mayawati posted on ‘X’, “The incident of burning many houses of poor Dalits to ashes and ruining their lives by the goons in Bihar’s Nawada is very sad and serious. The government should take strict legal action against the culprits and also provide full financial help for the rehabilitation of the victims.”

What is the matter?

The DM said that there is a dispute over the land occupied by Dalit families. These Dalit families are in a dispute with the other party over the possession of the land. The matter is being taken up with the administrative authorities. The victim families allege that the goons suddenly attacked them on Wednesday evening. Their houses were set on fire along with assault. It is alleged that firing was also done. Zonal Officer Vikesh Kumar said that after receiving information about the fire, the fire brigade has been sent, and an investigation is being conducted about the plot on which the dispute has taken place.
